This B&B originates from the desire of its owner, Cipriano Capriotti, to move back in retirement to the countryside where he grew up. Cascina Vecchia Bellaria B&B is located in Bellaria, 2 km from both the seaside and the town, in a recently renovated house that used to be part of the estates of the Torlonia Princes from the 19th to the mid-20th century.

Why “Cascina Vecchia”? In the Property Registry of the Torlonia estate, the farmhouse was registered as Cascina Vecchia Bellaria and it was almost certainly one of the oldest within the estate (end of the 18th century), while the other ca. 150 buildings were numbered.

The farmhouse is surrounded by a ca. 1,000 m2 fenced garden, with a green lawn, tall trees, bushes, flowering shrubs, a wide variety of roses, a gazebo covered with climbing roses, strawberry grape vines, climbing evergreens and, next to the gazebo, a fountain fed from a well with water recycling, where 3 Koi carps of remarkable size swim peacefully.

Behind the house and the garden there is a ca. 5,000 m2 land and a henhouse with about twenty hens that every day lay fresh eggs for the family and the B&B guests. There is an organic garden cultivated with natural methods: animal manure as fertiliser and biological control using beneficial insects and mites against parasites. There is a rose garden with 200 Rosa Damascena plants that were planted 4 years ago with cuttings from Bulgaria. In May, when the roses bloom, their petals are gathered and steam-distilled to extract pure rosewater. The rose garden is fed with organic fertilisers and the aphid parasites usually present in roses are fought using exclusively ladybird larvae provided by Bioplanet.

The B&B offers its guests the opportunity to enjoy the fascinating experience of countryside life. A relaxing holiday in which to discover the town, enjoy beautiful green spaces, live in close contact with farm animals, eat organic homemade food for breakfast and go for walks to the hill or down to the sea.

The first floor, entirely for the guests, has three spacious and nicely furnished double bedrooms (en-suite or with shared bathroom). The living room on the ground floor develops around a large fireplace and has comfortable sofas, a TV and a DVD player, a small library and a selection of board games. The blooming garden outside offers a space for complete relax, where you can lie in the hammock in the shade of oak trees or sip a drink in the gazebo, with its wisterias and roses. In the spring and summer, breakfast (savoury or sweet) is served in the veranda, using recipes and ingredients from the Romagna countryside. In the winter, it is served in the main kitchen, next to the fireplace. In addition to the B&B service, we provide room cleaning, keys to access the house afterhours and space for parking outside the house. Wi-Fi connection is also available free of charge.
